Anesthesia Error

A common procedure – a spinal-epidural provided to ease the pain of a woman during childbirth – resulted in permanent nerve damage to her leg. Attorney David Slossberg of our Milford law firm demonstrated that Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale Medical School were negligent in allowing a first-year resident to perform the procedure without proper supervision. The patient was awarded a $1.2 million judgment in the medical malpractice trial.

If you have been injured, or lost a loved one during or after a procedure involving anesthesia, you may suspect that negligence on the part of the anesthesiologist, referring physician, nursing staff, or the hospital was responsible for your loss. However, you probably don’t know where to begin to investigate the issue. Contact our office to make arrangements for a free consultation and case evaluation.

Our personal injury attorneys have the experience and the resources to identify evidence of negligence on the part of your health-care providers, and to demonstrate that negligence to a jury, judge, or insurance company representative.

When evaluating a case involving anesthesia error, our lawyers will review the qualifications of the anesthesiologist, the manner in which the anesthesia was administered, evidence of an anesthesia overdose, harmful interactions between anesthesia and other drugs in the patient's system, and evidence that a known allergy, noted on the chart, was overlooked, resulting in administration of anesthesia to an allergic patient. Our attorneys and staff understand the frustration of patients dealing with corporate health-care organizations after a painful and traumatic experience. We are committed to providing sensitive, discrete, and effective representation, allowing you and your family to focus on healing.
